I'm sorry to hear about this error. I've seen multiple issues for this problem. Here are some common reasons an Xbox live code won't redeem:

- You had Xbox Live Gold previously and have an overdue balance (check for this at account.microsoft.com under "Services and Subscriptions")

- You currently have a 12 month Xbox Gold Subscription, so you must wait till it expires before redeeming a new code

- The region of the Xbox Live Gold code does not match the region to which your account/console is set

- Your account has been suspended or banned (check for this at enforcement.xbox.com )

- Your account information is not up to date

If your physical country and account region matches then you must contact support and work out the billing issue

This only shows up on mismatched regions including billing options

Also if recently did a region migrations you must wait till 90days for it to complete

Also sometimes resignation to your actual region works too to avoid billing problems

I checked. The region corresponds. But the error is still there.

Does your account region match your actual region if not that would be why

To get content and for the best experience with live your account region must reflect your actual region

When I say region we mean country not continent and us foreign bases don't count as the us they are the host country they are hosted in

Your locale has no bearing o. The error physical region and account region is the only one that count
