0x80072f8f

Hi,

So basically I initially got this error (0x80072f8f) when i connected the xbox to a network so I had to manually update the xbox because it wouldnt work at all. The manual update worked fine but now no games will open due to this error. My network is fine
obviously and on the xbox i can do everything that requires an internet connection except launch a game. Ive restarted the router and the modem, Ive restarted xbox itself. The network diagnostic came up good. But whenever i open a game it says Try again later
this problem works itself out error (0x80072f8f) etc... I talked to xbox support on twitter and they told me to reset the xbox and that my game saves wont be lost. The saves actually did get deleted so now all my game progress is gone and the error is still
coming up. I can play games offline they just dont open when the xbox is connected to a network. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

I have the same problem,I think it might be due to the game needing an updated, when I checked my updates in my games and apps there was none however I do recall there being around 17 games that need an update, I tried launching one of the games offline
and it launched fine however it says the game requires an update to play online but I can't update I can't see it in the update tab and when I launch the game it doesn't give the message saying it needs an update.

 

It looks like its working now! Im able to update a game hopefully its all good when it finishes. Is it the same for you?
