    After a Microsoft update to my Xbox one S console at 3:30 PM today, I could not get some games & apps to launch. Haven't tested all of them but Fallout 4 & Gears of War 4 are affected along with various apps for streaming TV episodes. FO4 is the game I'm
    playing right now & I'm pretty addicted to it so I'm REALLY upset. HELP. Error code 0x800705b4 after something fails to launch & of course I've already checked that out & found that it means the update corrupted something. I've tried all the mundane stuff
    & stock Microsoft suggestions & none of them work for this. I even uninstalled & reinstalled Fallout 4 hoping that would fix something. I don't know how to remove the update & am not sure if removing it after it corrupted something will fix the problem. I'm
    disabled & gaming is pretty much the only thing I can do to keep my mind busy (at least that I enjoy doing - can't read as my vision is failing & it causes too much eye strain. I hope someone can solve this for me. Thank you.

    Mine is 0x800705b4, but I'm in the same boat... can't play any downloaded games. ****, I can't even launch anything from "My games & apps."

    My Games & Apps not downloading updates

    I need help!

    I am running my Xbox One S with a wired Ethernet connection, & an external HDD for my library of games, but whenever i go to download updates for games or install new ones, the download just won't start.

    I've been at this for hours, tried all the solutions seen on Google, but nothing is fixing it. What do i do? I have so many games i wanna play, but many of them need updates.

    My Games & Apps has become very, very sluggish lately & needs to be fixed now.

    Can anyone help me???

    Issue connecting to Microsoft/Game Pass servers

    This also applies to launching games, by the way. I've installed Halo Infinite using the tethering trick and it launches fine while using my phone - whereas if I try on my cable connection it takes forever, and then the launch window simply hangs on "Checking for updates", after 10 or so minutes I get an error message with the code 0x800705b4. I can start the app on cable, and while it's trying to connect switch to the tether - it then launches and works immediately. It's perplexing.

    My game did, however if you go into My games and apps on the Xbox and check in the updates section there. Also if you launch Forza and it requires an update the game won't launch but will then start the update.

    Update “KB5004476” is not showing up in my updates, meaning I can’t fix Gamepass.

    So, after doing every workaround published by Microsoft, MANY people all around and wasting an entire afternoon with Microsoft Support, I was able to find a definitive workaround (that's still far from ideal).

    Just uninstall Game Services BUT DON'T REINSTALL IT AS STUPID MICROSOFT advices (and forces after restarting Xbox App), leave unistalled and you'll be able to install and launch all the games with no issues.

    And no, repairing, reseting, using "Create" does not solve the Game Services issues. And yes, I have all the latest updates.

    Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Forums!

    From what I have found concerning this code: 0x800705b4, this could mean that there was an update that was unsuccessful.

    Try to do a power cycle first.

    1. Turn off by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
      Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the power cable in and turn your Xbox back on.
