    Hi,

    after the last update most of my game pass games stopped working. Only a few indie games still start without problems.

    I noticed first, that the shortlink images disappeared. If i start a game via desktop shortcut it sends me to the Microsoft Services Store Page.

    If i start Game Pass games via teh XBOX beta App nothing happens.

    I uninstalled a game and tried to install it again and i get following error code: 0x80070057

    If i try to run the game directly from the story nothing happens. If i try to install via the store the download does not start and an error occurs.

    • Resetting the store did not help
    • Deleting the Windows/SoftwareDistribution Folder and restarting the computer did not help
    • Membership is still valid
    • Enough Harddisk space is available
    • Specs are alright
    • Win 10 x86 is up to date

    Until yesterday everything ran just fine. Mostly (but not only) newer games and windows live games are not working.

    Bloodstained, West of Loathing and Outer Worlds for example do not work, but Zoo Tycoon and Everspace do.

    If you own the xbox game pass download Xbox (beta) app from Microsoft Store and launch games with it

    I don't think you actually need the Xbox beta app to launch any game? The app is useful for checking the Xbox Game Pass for PC catalog, but you can also download any games via the Microsoft Store without the Xbox beta app. And the app doesn't need to run
    in the background when you're playing Microsoft Store games on your PC

    The Xbox (Beta) app recently got updated out of Beta. Try going to the Microsoft Store app to download Minecraft and while you're there, click on the top right icon (the one with the Down Arrow) or the "..." and click on "Downloads and Updates".

    Also, the Xbox (Beta) app currently only shows Game Pass games. Minecraft PC unfortunately is not on Game Pass.

    thanks for your reply. As i noticed, when i start a game it sends me to the game services store page.

    Deleting and installing the game services again partially fixed my issue. Strangely the downloading and installing process took one hour for a 6mb file.

    My steps:

    • Start PowerShell as admin and type: „get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers“.
    • Then type: „start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN“.
    • Installing game services again.

    Games that previously stopped working now run as before.

    However, there is still a bug for games i unistalled during the error to see if they would run if i make a fresh installation:

    • If i click on the download button in the Xbox App or the game store page the installation starts and instantly finishes, as if my game never was uninstalled properly. Also a new shortcut is created on my pc but not in the xbox App. The game does not run
      however and i just get another installation prompt instead of a play prompt.
    • I tried to see if the game was still under installed apps or programs, but ther eis no entry of the game.
    • Games i did not uninstall during my initial problem can be downloaded and installed
