0x80004005 Sign in Error (PC)

Discus and support 0x80004005 Sign in Error (PC) in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I'm trying to play a game on my PC via Game Pass on the Xbox app. The game is "Monster Train".     I'm trying to play a game on my PC via Game Pass on the Xbox app. The game is "Monster Train". The error is that it's unable to sign me into Xbox Live. I'm only getting this error in the game, I can log in to xbox.com and other games I try (so far) haven't had this issue.

    It looks like other people have been having this problem, but nothing I've tried from other posts has helped me. Since most of these posts were from last year or earlier, I'm hoping there's some new info that will help me.

    Sorry, I should have mentioned first that I'm running Windows 11 and it's fully updated.

    have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10.

    These updates often come as optional on the Windows updates part, after running them, make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed correctly and also all Xbox-related Apps.

    0x80004005 cant play games xbox game pass

    I have seen this error code from back with Windows XP and the original Xbox. On the PC the error can come up with extracting zip files, copying files from disk to disk etc.

    According tp MSFT, this code may apply to activation, but this exists in other areas as well. It may be caused by disk error, or folder permissions.

    So I just tried making a new account on my windows PC and I am actually able to load the game and sign in to my xbox live account but when I switch back to my main windows account, i get the error 0x80004005.

    Do you have any ideas?
