At this point, it's a safe bet that I won't be purchasing ANYTHING from Microsoft or for X-Box in the future. The level of "support" is a complete joke. Ever since I updated to Windows 19, I have been unable to log in to two Microsoft Games - Mahjong and
Jigsaw. Microsoft games, mind you, not some third party apps. I CAN log in for Microsoft Solitaire, no problems. I can log in to the X-Box a on the computer, no problems. What I cannot do is log in to those two apps. I also cannot do anything such as
download new puzzles (though it WILL deduct the gold for those...), or download any new games. I have tried a ton of "solutions", to no avail. Resetting the store, verifying system time, even having a so-called tech try remote access. Even tied uninstalling
and reinstalling the games. The end result was that I had to do a system roll-back to even PLAY the games, since, once I uninstalled them, I couldn't even reinstall. NOT a solution! When I asked for solutions that actually solve the problem, I was told
I would have to PAY to get any actual help. "If you pay for support, I can guarantee you we can resolve this problem." is what several techs told me. I don't know about the rest of you, but I call that extortion. Hence, the guarantee that I won't be buying
anything from the company for a LONG time, if ever. Certainly not before they start supporting their products. I do not pay for a free game to work. Not happening.

Looking up the error codes is beyond useless, since apparently they are also valid for a host of other problems, with far older versions of windows. Looking online for solutions does no good. Basically nothing does any good. I can't even CHAT with a Microsoft
person at this point, because a couple of required fields will not allow any data to be entered, and the form won't complete without them. This degree of incompetence is something I might have expected from Electronic Arts, not from Microsoft.! It's pathetic,
and inexcusable. Yes, I am angry. More than two months without being able to properly use a couple of fre games, gain any achievements for the challenges, etc. and a total lack of support from the company.

I really don't expect any real solutions here. More of the same, trying this and that which either does nothing or makes things worse, or more, "pay us to properly play our "free" games", is what I expect. No, I am not checking the system time again, no,
I am not resetting the store again, and no, none of the troubleshooters do a blasted thing. I refuse to believe that no one knows what the issue is here, and that no one has a real solution. Based on how many people told me I had to PAY to get help with
"free" games, I suspect this is all quite deliberate. But, hey, by all means, prove me wrong! Offer a REAL solution. Don't think I'll hold my breath, though. Rating for Microsoft and X-Box games on Windows right now? Three thumbs down.

    :)

Hello MamaDragonOwl - I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues. I really don't know if I will be able to help, but if you don't mind, here are a few things to try.

First let me mention that some of the Xbox games on Windows 10 use a slightly different sign-in mechanism than others. Games like Solitaire, Minecraft Win10 edition, Tomb Raider and Gears of War - as well as the XBox app - use a newer sign-in mechanism.
These games share a single Xbox Live profile that you can change by signing out from the Xbox app settings and back in with a different account. Older Xbox Live games like Mahjong, Jigsaw, Bingo, and others use your "connected account" that you sign into
Windows with and do not have the ability to switch accounts via the Xbox app.

First a couple of questions on your situation:

    • Are you signed into your Win10 PC with a "connected account"?
    • You can check this by going to Settings->Accounts
    • If there is an email address under the name and a link that says "Sign in with local account", then that is your connected account.
    • If it says "Local account" under the name with a link to sign in with a microsoft account, then you do not have a connected account
If you don't have a connected account:

    • Do you mind trying to connect your Microsoft Account that is associated with your Xbox Live account? Do that, uninstall the games, reboot and see if that works
    • If you DO have a connected account (or after you add it):
    • When you sign into the Xbox app or Solitaire, are you using the same account?
    • Go into Xbox app->Settings and you will see the Microsoft account email address you are sign into

Here is another set of steps that I found in a post which might be another thing to give a try:

    0) Uninstall the games that don't work - Mahjong, Jigsaw, etc.

    1) Go in Start==>Settings==>Accounts==>Sign-in Options==> Change Pin

In this step create the pin. Also change the password there.

    2) Then click on the "Manage my Microsoft Account" in Settings->Accounts or open any browser and go to account.microsoft.com/about to Sign in your Microsoft Account and
use the new password which you have changed .

    3) On the next screen, Scroll down to Devices. There you see a symbol of PC below the word 'Devices' and see all in front of the word 'Devices'. Click on 'see all'.

    4) There you see your devices. Remove your PC device by clicking Remove PC and wait for 5 minutes to sync with your PC. Make sure that you are well connected to Internet so that the PC will sync properly.

    5) After this you go to account in setting to switch back to Local account.

This will get you back to a local account. From there you can launch the help you login to your Local account.

    6) Try installing and launching the Mahjong game now (signing into the store app with your Microsoft account associated with your xbox live profile)

    7) Mahjong should ask for a user name and password to sign in - again use the MSA with your xbox profile

    8) You can go into Settings->Accounts on Windows and re-connect your Microsoft account (and be sure to verify it as well)

Again I do not know if this will work but if you have time and want to try it, please let us know the results. Thank you

@MamaDragonOwl - I've had similar problems downloading jigsaw packs on MS Jigsaw, and have been trying to help a few users elsewhere in this forum. I managed to find a solution which worked for me, but I cannot guarantee it will work for you. It's only
for downloading jigsaw packs, so it probably won't solve your login issues, unfortunately.

Here's what I did, but it's entirely up to you if you want to try it:

Firstly, run SFC (System File Checker) -

Hold-down Windows key and press X.

    Select "Command Prompt (Admin)".

In the command prompt window, type the following

    sfc/scannow

    Press Enter.

This will take a while, but bear with it ;-).

After this completes, if it finds errors (it did on mine), close the command prompt and restart your PC.

    Uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Jigsaw.

Open Windows Settings and select "Privacy", choose "Background Apps" at the bottom of the list on the left. The Microsoft Jigsaw needs to be turned on, so scroll-down to MS Jigsaw, and select "On".

Run MS Jigsaw, and try to download puzzle packs again,.

    Kind regards.

    DJM.

I was reading this wrong when I first posted, so if you saw that, I'm sorry.

It's not that they forget which offer, they just need the details so they know which offer you took part in. They usually have several different promotions running at different times.

Thank you but I should not have to explain to them which offer off the dash board, it should link to my account the second I take the offer, can you imagine buying a car and the dealer cannot keep track of what offer you took. Microsoft should be able to
keep track of all their own promotions and offers, the customer should not have too. I am sure they do not forget to bill monthly and I am sure they keep track of when your membership is done. Do they only keep track of the things that benefit them and who
cares once they have the customer`s money
