0x0409 0x080080300 Error, tried some things - still won't work

Can't sign in to the Xbox App, even to play Forza Horizon 3

Didn't have any issues for a while, now this, this has been going on for about two weeks now.

Error code is 0x0409 0x080080300, couldn't sign in to Xbox Store for a while but now I can.

Here's everything I've tried that's failed so far:

    - Everything including OS is up to date (Spamming "Check for updates" 20 million times confirmed this), all drivers are also up to date.

    - Logged out, logged back in, reset the computer (as per usual in a two week period)

    - Using a local account (my non-local account is different to the one I bought Forza on anyway)

    - Xbox store had my regular email instead of the one I purchased Forza on logged in for a while, tried logging into the account I purchased the game on and still no luck

    - I've tried clearing my Xbox local identity data (Profile & Cache)

    - I can log in on the Xbox website & Outlook on both accounts (obviously, to post this)

    - I ran a few commands in Command Promt and Powershell that were meant to help, such as: sfc /sannow, a command that started is dism what was meant to fix it too, and " Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register
    "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} "

    - Running no VPN

    - Modem has certainly been reset a couple of times in the last two weeks when this issue started

    - Running only Avast AV - Haven't changed any AV or firewall settings since logging in was working

    - Set all Xbox services to "Automatic" in the Services app thingo

As well as possibly some other things that I forget. But I've tried all the solutions that I've seen in my google search and still no luck.

Any help? Can't log in to play Forza and it's really starting to make me angry.

    Cheers.

    :)

-checking for updates manually in the xbox store menu

Getting very annoyed, I just wanna play Forza on my PC!! Grr

    Hi Nutronikk

I've been dealing with this issue since a bit before you posted here. I too posted and didn't get a response. I was able to fix this by doing the following.

    - Use the Media Creation Tool too perform and In Place Upgrade of Windows 10.

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

    - Once complete my Xbox app still would not login because the Xbox services were not enabled. I did this to fix that issue.

Open the start menu, search for “services” and run it. (The app has a gear logo)

Look for “Xbox Live Auth Manager,” “Xbox Live Game Save,” and “Xbox Live Networking Service.”

If you notice one with a “Startup Type” set to “Disabled” you’ll need to change it to “Automatic”

    1. Right-click on the item and select “Properties.” (You’ll see a popup window with more information)

    2. Change “Startup type” to “Automatic”

    3. Hit “OK”

    - Again the Xbox app did not login because an app was still missing. The app that was missing after the repair was %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_cw5n1h2txyewy The Xbox Identity Provider app. To reinstall this I ran the
command below that just reinstalls all Windows 10 default/stock apps.

    Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"

I'm not exactly sure what happened or why the issues occurred. My only guess is at some point during a big update for Windows 10 a corruption was introduced and didn't manifest until the big Xbox app update. I had zero help from Xbox and Windows 10 support
via the Microsoft support channels. I hope this helps you though since I know how much frustration this type of issue is with no help or acknowledgement of the issue from Microsoft.

Hey, thanks for the response but if you read through my first post you'll see that I've already tried each of the things you've suggested and more, including uninstalling the app through powershell and re installing from the store the other day, which was
    suggested by Xbox support.

Still no luck, if I can't get it to work I'll be asking for my bloody $150 back for Forza as I can't even play the damn thing, no fault of my own.

  7. Apologies about the delayed response.

The one thing I noticed you didn't try is to log in with a different account.

Can you login to other accounts on the xbox app?

    Let me know.

Err, I'm not real sure, I feel like I don't think so? I get stuck even before I can type my details in, Open app > Green screen > Sign in button pops up saying "we cannot log you in at this time. try again later" (error code underneath). > click sign in
    > same screen pops up again ..

Maybe it's still got the details of in, but it won't lead me back to a screen where I can type my details in, just that screen. Or maybe it tries to sign in whoevers signed into the store ()

  9. So...are you using the beta app or the regular app? Why don't you try changing your password to see if it asks for new credentials again.

Just tried that, didn't work, funnily enough didn't log me out of the forum/website.. And the app still displays the same "sign in" button etc..

Just checked the Appdata > Local > Msoft > Xbox Live / Windows Apps folders, nothing shows up. (after the un installing, re installing & powershell verify all apps steps)

Not sure if for Windows apps it's because it's off limits usually, but I swear there were some files in Xbox Live that I had to delete as part of a trouble shooting step (there were still files left in there after I deleted those files, now there's nothing.)

    Okay so an update:

    I have fixed THIS issue.

It can be one of two things: Changing the password of the account, which didn't for some reason take affect immediately (it's just signed me out of the forum to sign in with the new password)

OR I also created a new local PC login and signed in to the Xbox app on there (it worked) which maybe forced any account issue or bug to fix itself. I logged into my normal pc login (the one the issue has been happening on) and it now works again too.

So one of those two things fixed it (I'm edging towards logging in to the app on the separate local login, because changing the password didn't work at the time I tried it, but it all works now.)

This local account could just be bugged or corrupted. Now noticing a texture bug with Forza horizon 3 which I'll end up making a second thread for, gotta install/move it to the second account though to test it there first to see if this local account was corrupted
(it's been suggested before with stuttering issues I've been having)

Not sure how to just move all my games from my first local login to my second one without re downloading them all from steam and windows store (all games are installed to a specific account, well, because I didn't think I'd need a second one at the time of
installing.) (all origin and rockstar games installed to all accounts on the PC, but Steam and Windows games didn't roll over)
