0x000005b4 is there a fix for this?

I'm a long time member of Microsoft's movies and TV like most of you. I have over 300 movies I have collected over the years. So almost every problem movies and tv has came across I have had to put up with it. But this code 0x000005b4

is a huge problem for me. The movies it happens to me on are random and becoming more frequent. Sometimes itll happen 4 or 5 movies in a row. Sometimes a movie will play all the way through. Or i have to restart the xbox one just to finish. Sometimes even
that doesn't work. I have cleared caches i have deleted apps and reinstalled them i have removed games thinking its a network or broadband problem i have deleted my account and reinstalled just about everything there is. I was noticing a pattern while searching
for answers and it seems posts that inquire about this are being locked and telling people to repost new questions... Is there a fix for this or have i invested into a collection that is now junk and almost unwatchable. Thanks in advance

I don't know if any of you figured out of this error. My husband did!(At least it worked for us) We've been struggle with this error for couple days. We even did the factory reset and everything that microsoft suggested but no matter what you do, the error kept popping up. Long story short, here is what we did :

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Go to System > Settings > General.

Select TV & display options.

Under Resolution, select 720p << it's usually 1080

It plays!

We finally watched 'IT 2' movie with no more error. Good luck guys! I join to the Xbox-forums to let you all know that we fixed this error and suggest to try. Because We couldn't find any answer from anywhere and that really very frustrated us. :/ Hope this help!!

Yup. Tried it. Same with the app. Reset the xbox etc. Im pretty sure ive done it all. Long time user so im pretty clear on just about all the tricks. Just to be clear this isnt a new problem, its been going on 6 to 8 months. And it seems to be getting worse.

It reflects that of a network problem. My network is great. I even had them send me a new router. So the problem has got to be on the Xbox side.

If you search this code lots of people have been having the problem. There are no fixes provided.

Im wondering if its an issue with the xbox x in general. Just a feeling.

I was told to do all the basics. Clear, restarts, deletes, etc. To no avail.

I have 2 Xbox ones for the record. an X and the S. The chances of me ending up with 2 bad consoles is..."1 in a million". Especially with how many users also posting about the same code...since 2018 if not earlier... Though it happens more often on the X,
it still happens on my S. So it really doesn't make sense how the console could be the problem. being I've had them both and they both use to play movies fine. before suggesting my network or router as an issue please see the above replies.

I really do appreciate the suggestions, trust me, I've been through it all. over a decade lol.

I need to know what Microsoft or Xbox has to say about this. not the basic "ctrl alt delete" type of stuff.

I really do hope there's something out there I haven't tried.

Thats unfortunate and im sorry you've had to endure this problem for that long.

May i ask, if you know if your xbox is still under warranty?? You may lodge a request for a repair here at Device support

You may also reach out to customer support.

Im sorry i know its a lot of running back and forth, im not sure what else to suggest. But hopefully another member of the community can have another suggestion. I'd say it might be a case of xbox needing to do an update patch on these functions.

Have you tried this:

Remove and re-add your profile

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Go to Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
Select your account, and then select Remove.
Select your gamerpic, and then select Add new.
Enter your Microsoft account email address, then select Enter.
Important Do not select Get a new email.
Enter your Microsoft account password, then select Enter.
Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.
