0Mbps download speed

we are having all sorts of problems downloading games or watching tv on demand through our console these last few days. System consistently says 0Mbps download speed, when our modem is receiving around 20Mbps. We have since connected Xbox to the modem
via an Ethernet cable and allocated it to the dmz on our router. Still no download speed. Frustration levels are very high right now! Any advice anyone??

Hey AquaJimmy McG! Have you tried switching to a wireless connection to see if that behaves differently? Additionally, you may want to try moving the console to a friends house to see if the problem persists on a different network. Post back and let me know!

Hi Francia,

Thank you so much for your help! No worries if this issue can't be fixed, just trying my luck. Xbox one has been with me for 7 years already.

Yes I have done the powercycle and reset the network hardware, doesn't work for both :/

Ah yes, I realised its most probably my home connection. But the wifi works perfectly well with my other devices, and the upload speed/packet loss/MTU/latency and wireless strength all seems fine to me.

It may be an IP issue thing or a port forwarding issue. So try the following

Check the IP address of your console. Make sure the first 3 numbers in the IP

address match the first 3 numbers in the IP address of the gateway.

Example

X box: 192.168.1.25

Gate Way: 192.168.1.1

If they are not the same change the x box consoles IP to match the first

three numbers of the gateway. The last number can be anything and should

not be the same. If everything is good then move on.

Also make sure the sub net of the X box matches the sub net of the gateway

Example

Gateway: 255.255.255.0

X Box: 255.255.255.0

Next make sure your x box default gate way matches the IP address of your gateway ( router/ modem )

Example:

If your gateway IP is 192.168.1.1 then the x box default gateway should be the same. If all is good them move on

Next log into the gateway ( router/ modem ) and make sure these ports are open for communication

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)
