$0.00 plus tax

I bought some skin packs for Minecraft on my 360 a while back and now I'm supposed to get the same ones I bought free for Minecraft on the Xbox one. It shows the ad on free but when I try to download it something pops up and says "$0.00 Plus Tax. ad credit
card " Really? Tax on a free thing? I checked the game Super Time Force and I could download it for free, no tax. Whats up with this?

How can you tax FREE items???

I tried to download the free GwG game but it said I had to pay $0.77 for sales tax... How do you charge taxes on a FREE item? Last I checked, any percentage of $0.00 is $0.00. I don't really care much about the sales tax itself, if I paid for a $10 game,
I'd expect to pay $10.80 with 8% tax, that's fine... But you can't calculate sales tax on $0.00

Tax cannot be charged on a $0.00 purchase.

 

Tax on $0 is $0. You don't need to worry about paying anything. As for needing to add a credit card, I can't explain that. I downloaded my son's DLC without any issues and he does not have any payment methods on his account.

 

I hope your right it says the same for me and im going to put my credit card on if it charges me ill phone microsoft
