    Xbox Game Bar Broken - Ghost Overlay


    Whenever I use the Xbox Game Bar shortcut, it opens but does not register my clicks. The only thing that still works is clicking around the 'friends' tab but I cannot move it around or disable it. I also cannot choose to close Game Bar, whether that be by pressing the shortcut key again or pressing the 'X', but Game Bar crashes/closes shortly after opening it. Keyboard inputs aren't blocked like they normally are. Shortcuts for functions like starting/stopping recording are also not working. Does anyone have a solution?

    I updated and reset the apps and it still didn't work. Forgot to mention that I was talking about Nvidia In-Game Overlay. Xbox Game Bar works perfectly fine, it's just the Nvidia In-Game Overlay that doesn't work properly.

    How do i record Xbox gamebar party chat on a seperate audio track using obs? Or how do i use the xbox gamebar outside of an overlay mode?

    We understand that you are looking to record Xbox Game Bar party chat on a separate audio track using OBS. There could be things to be consider if the separating audio track from a game clip of recorded on Xbox Game Bar would be released. However, if you would like to request such feature, you may submit one to the Team Xbox: Xbox Support.



    Regarding your question about using Xbox Game Bar outside of overlay mode, unfortunately, it is not possible to use Xbox Game Bar without it being in overlay mode. The overlay mode is designed to provide quick access to Xbox Game Bar features while you are playing a game.

    Gamebar Party Chat stops working when overlay is closed

    We understand that you're experiencing issues with the Xbox Game Bar party chat. By default, the Xbox Game Bar is an overlay feature, pinning the service like chat party or social tab, will help the app to run on the background.

    Should you wish to have a feature where Xbox Game Bar does not have to be on an overlay feature. Feel free to send a suggestion to Team Xbox - Xbox Support

    It usually depends on the game as pulling up a game overlay in certain games could change the display settings in-game from Full-screen mode to Windowed mode. Have you checked your in-game settings if the game is set to Full-screen mode? What game is collapsing
    when you open the Xbox Game Bar overlay?

    I'd recommend checking the Microsoft Store in case the Xbox Game Bar needs an update.
