Ok, thanks for the feedback! I am actually over 18, it’s just that I accidentally set my birthdate to 2011 in the first place, and that my actual birthdate is before the year 2004 (making me 18+). Also, I do not know whether I am in a family group. I will provide a screenshot of my family safety page so you will know whether I am in a family group or not.





Since I am 18+ as I said already, I do not require parent assistance with my account. So how would I change my birthdate of my account myself in order to play Minecraft PE multiplayer with my Xbox live account? Would I still need a family group? Thanks!

I have the same problem but when I go to change my privacy settings, it redirects me to a page titled 'why I can't change my privacy settings?' and the reasons it gives for why I can't do not apply to me because I am 18+, I'm not a child account, and I am the only account in my 'family'. plz help all I want to do is play Minecraft and Halo online with other people. Btw I do not own an Xbox I am playing these on PC.

You currently can't do that and have to wait under 18 years old, now if you are under 18 your parent have to remove your account from the Xbox family:

If the date of birth on your Microsoft account shows that you're under 18 years old, Xbox is required to request parental consent for you to use Xbox Live.

If you're an adult, but you got a message asking for parental consent, it's because you're a child in your Microsoft family. Even if you're over the age of 18, you can still be a child in Microsoft family.

Solution

If you're under the age of 18, follow the steps on your console to have your parent sign in and add you to a Microsoft family.

If you're over the age of 18, have your parent remove you from the family. They'll have to sign in to
account.microsoft.com/family, select your profile, and select remove.
