PC Game Pass en Windows no permite usar GPU dedicada porque no da acceso al ejecutable (.exe)

Hi. I’m having an issue with a PC Game Pass game, and I’m looking for help because I’ve already tried most of the common fixes.

Game: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
DLC affected: War Sails (purchased separately)
Platform: Windows 11, Game Pass for PC

The problem is that the game does not use the dedicated NVIDIA GPU. It always runs on the integrated graphics (Intel), which causes extremely poor performance, even on the lowest settings. The reason seems to be that the Microsoft Store/Game Pass version does not allow selecting the game’s executable (.exe), so Windows cannot assign the GPU to it.

What I’ve already tried

1. Updated NVIDIA drivers (also tried clean reinstall).
2. Forced the GPU through the NVIDIA Control Panel, but the game’s .exe cannot be added to the list.
3. Tried forcing the GPU through:
   • Settings → System → Display → Graphics
   • “Add desktop app”
   • “Add Microsoft Store app” In all cases, the game cannot be selected because the executable either does not show up or it shows up without permission to be accessed.
4. Tested with other apps from the Microsoft Store. The issue only happens with Xbox/Game Pass games.
5. Installed the game in the default XboxGames folder, but it behaves the same: the file Launcher.Native.exe exists, but Windows does not allow selecting it for GPU assignment.

Result


Even though the laptop has a capable dedicated GPU, the Game Pass version forces the game to run on the integrated graphics, making it nearly unplayable on systems that rely on switching between GPUs.

Is there any official way to:

• Allow Windows to detect the game’s executable to assign a GPU?
• Grant minimal permission to the executable so it can be selected for GPU settings?
• Or is this a current limitation of the UWP/Microsoft Store structure that has no workaround yet?

Any guidance would be appreciated. I can provide system specs, screenshots, or anything else if needed.
