    Fans making a repeated ticking noise


    I recently sent my Xbox Series S for maintenance since I noticed it making a lot of noise and overheating. I waited for two weeks (I don't live anywhere close to a technician so I can get it back quick) and payed 70€ for a simple maintenance, which is just great. Now, two days after I got it back, I notice a weird ticking sound coming from it. It's not overheating, and it's a subtle noise that somewhat can be heard troughout the whole room and it's genuinely turning me crazy.

    The problem is most likely to be the fans. I don't know what could be the issue about them (maybe they are constantly hitting something even though the noise is constantly repeating various times a second...?). I tried to film a video to show it but the phone doesn't really take the noise. To sum up, I need any solutions that could work so I don't have to go back to that technician to complain and pay even more than before. So please, help me

    Return it and try another. Far too early into its life cycle to be hearing the fan making ticking noises.

    Mine makes a faint ticking noise. I think it's just he fan. If your worried about saving energy, turn on energy saving mode to turn your box completely off.

    That really quiet ticking noise that you can't hear unless you stick your ear on the console? That's not the HDD. HDDs don't make a ticking noise like that.

    Any mechanical noise apart from the fan being used and the HDD spinning up and down are normal, a ticking noise I have not heard of. Do they have a XBOX1X on display to see if it happens on that unit?
