If I buy the xbox one version now do I get the upgraded one too?

Yeah, i think upgrading to the Xbox One's download version of Destiny only works if you bought the Xbox 360's version of Destiny. I do lIke that games are doing that between consoles though! I'll have to start buying download versions since I plan on getting
a One soon but want the's new games now. Buying it twice would be a pain.

The thing is I didn't buy it from Microsoft store and I can't get a refund now. I was wondering if there is a way to get the next gen version through Microsoft store with less money as an upgrade from the Xbox one version

All Xbox One games can be played on the Series S/X via backwards compatibility. Kind of like how you can play 360 games on the One now. You would be playing the One version of the games.

With Cross Gen Editions/Smart Delivery, you're buying the One version and get an upgrade to the Series S/X version of the game when you get the new console instead of having to buy the Series S/X version and you an take advantage of some of the upgraded

If you want to do it that way.... buy the Xbox 360 version, then on the Xbox One... buy the upgrade.
