    I’ve been gaming on my PC with an Xbox controller for over 2 years without any problems. A few days ago, out of nowhere, my games started lagging badly whenever I use the controller. At first, I thought my controller was dying, but the issue turned out to be deeper.

    Here’s what I tried so far:

    Updated everything I could on Windows 10 (controller firmware, Xbox accessories, Windows updates, drivers from the Store). Only thing I haven’t touched is the BIOS.

    Bought a brand new Xbox controller yesterday — exact same issue.

    Tested every connection: USB wireless dongle, direct Bluetooth, and wired with a USB cable. Doesn’t matter which method I use, the lag shows up.

    When I start a game, it runs fine for about 5–10 minutes, then the slowdown begins. It starts subtle but eventually becomes unplayable.

    If I stop using the controller and switch to keyboard + mouse, the game instantly runs smooth again.

    My PS5 controller still works fine on the same PC (though it’s starting to break physically).

    Weird part: my “old” Xbox controller works perfectly on my Windows 11 laptop. I tested for over 2 hours of gameplay and had zero lag.

    So it looks like the issue is specific to my desktop PC on Windows 10, not the controllers themselves. It happens in every game I’ve tested.

    Has anyone else run into this with Windows 10 + Xbox controllers? Could it be some recent update or driver conflict? I’d really appreciate any ideas or fixes before I consider moving everything over to Windows 11.

    Elite Controller

    I've got an Xbox One Elite controller and after about a year the headphone jack stopped working so I started using it with my PC instead. After about 2 years the rubber is starting to come unglued from the grip. Other than that everything else is working
    fine, no drift or lag etc.

    I removed the paddles because every time I sat the controller down on my leg or even on my table, which is full of clutter, the paddles would be pressed and I'd be choosing random stuff on the Xbox.

    Has the game been lagging for anyone else today? It was fine and I managed to get a partial extraction as a phoenix vanguard on silver (partial still counts right?). But every game I go into after that one was laggy beyond belief.

    This also stopped working. Not exactly sure what is going on. Controller works through bluetooth on every device but my gaming pc. But I can connect other controllers through bluetooth and they work directly plugged in. Only this XBox controller does not work after working fine
