    Exiting Xbox Update Preview without factory refresh


    I am currently in the Delta Ring and I enjoy getting new updates however since joining the program achievements have started having this large delay in unlocking. This is annoying enough (some taking over 24 hours) that it is not worth me having an update early. I have tried everything else I could think of to resolve this and this is my last resort.

    So on to the MAIN QUESTION here. If I switch out of the Delta program currently will I have to go through a factory refresh? The text under the update says "System Update Status: No Update". My best friend passed two years ago and I still have his Xbox home game share. I cannot risk losing it because I will probably not be able to get back into his account again.

    My current version is (xb_flt_2509ge.250918-1615) and the main Xbox version for everyone is currently: (xb_flt_2509ge.250910-2200). So there's a bit of variety in numbers there. Also Omega has the same build if I switch to that so maybe if that doesn't factory refresh me I can at least go down and maybe get out easier at Omega. If you guys tell me I cannot then does that mean I can only get out without a refresh if the numbers align between the public and preview builds?

    Start up error E208 00000570 00000005?

    No, 1st is factory refresh. If the console is connected to the network it will update without usb. The system update via usb OSU1 file is for when the console is not connected to a network and cannot be used if the console is enrolled in a Insider preview.

    G'day

    I know you said without XBOX, but thought I'd advise how you take your console out of the Insiders from within the Insider Hub on the console or at least drop down to a lower ring.

    After you load hub under Announcements you will see what ring (Beta) your in..

    Click to manage and/or exit from the previews.

    At of today you would have to factory refresh if you leave but could go down to Delta without a refresh.

    If you go down a ring wait until the Omega ring OS version is the same and go down to there which has fewer updates and is nearly about to be released as a General release.

    If your console is enrolled in a Insiders preview OS you cannot use OSU1 (offline system update) to recover the console from E206 error.

    Factory refresh the console keeping games and apps.

    If you are NOT in a Insiders preview and want to attempt an offline system update, make sure you disconnect your wired ethernet connection before starting OSU1.

    Personally I wouldn't bother with offline update and go straight to Factory refresh deleting everything if keeping games and apps fails to reset the console.

    After factory refresh, reconnecting your console to your network should start a system update download to the latest OS available.

    Possible to find if Xbox was in insiders program from serial number or console code?

    If you check your Microsoft Xbox account under Devices it should have your xbox details listed there.

    Assuming the console isn't working, and you didn't change the HDD yourself, you will need to factory refresh the console. This is usually the only way to change Insider previews or revert to General release OS.

    After the factory refresh, if the console is enrolled in a Insider preview, it will update the OS to the specific ring, Omega, Delta etc.

    Check step 2 in System update solution for details on how to bring up the Xbox troubleshooting screen which has the Factory refresh options available.

    Once that has occurred you can download the Insider app to the console and use the manage section to unenroll from the preview.

    If you installed the HDD yourself, I can't help you any further as self repair is contrary to the Xbox Terms of use.

    What preview are you in?

    Using the Insider hub >Manage should state what you're enrolled in.

    Most of the time a factory refresh is required when leaving, changing a preview ring or leaving Insiders altogether. You will need the account details and passwords for all accounts that are set up on the console now to set the console back up after the factory refresh. Your games and apps shouldn't be affected unless you decide to do a complete factory refresh and delete everything. Xbox Insider FAQ
