Elite series 2 fails after 2 years, fusion pro 2 still strong after 4

my standard Xbox one S white controller is still going strong after a good year so far. i also have a standard sky blue Xbox one controller which still going strong. there were some elite series 2 controllers which had a manufacturing problem but Xbox are
replacing those in warranty if they have the problem. overall the elite series 2 is a good controller.

if you purchase from a third party source i would recommend getting cover with it so if anything goes wrong you can replace it for free.

I have exactly the same issue with the new Series 2 controllers. I ordered the Electronic Volt version, but had to refund it because of the mentioned problem. Then I ordered the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, thinking a 150€ controller sure can't have these problems, but I was wrong.

So here I am, stuck my old Elite Series 1 controller that still works after several years, but starts to show wear, and I can't upgrade to Series 2 without winning the series-2-build-quality-lottery.

I'm on my third console. First Pro console RRoD after one year, which was repaired, then went on to survive another two years before I bought an Elite during those two years. The Elite had the RRoD about a year and a half and was repaired, then snuffed
it 2 years later with jamming disc tray and finally its second RRoD. Now I'm on to my third console which is a 360S and has been going strong for two years, and hopefully a few more.

All my controllers from Xbox One to X and Elite 1 & 2 still work and have no faults mechanically. Elite Series 1 my grips came off after two years of abuse. Other than that no problems.

Just popping in as I was also looking for an update.

I have the elite series 2 and an iPad Pro 2018 - can confirm that it does not pair. It seems as though apple still has the device whitelisted so we're waiting for an update to allow the Elite Series 2 to connect to iOS.
