My Xbox is rage baiting me and it’s doing it successfully so far

I have an Xbox One X and was getting on earlier to play with a buddy, I went to start a party, and when I pressed “create a party” it wouldn’t do anything, but the words went a bit dark for a second, seeming like it recognized that I pressed it but nothing happened, so my buddy started a party, I went to it and pressed the pause button to join, again, nothing happened so I pressed A on it and was brought to the screen where it shows who is in the party and where you can press A to join, and you guessed it, nothing happened, but that’s not even the end, he invited me to the party but I didn’t receive the notification, matter of fact I’m not receiving any notifications on my Xbox at all, my messages are rarely going through, I can’t invite anyone to a game or join their games. I checked to see if my router was good (it is) than checked the connection on my Xbox (it’s good) restarted my Xbox (didn’t help) unplugged it and plugged it back in (didn’t help) turned the Xbox off, waited a few minutes than turned it back on (didn’t help either). I didn’t get a message or email about my account being reported, and all my privacy settings, contents restrictions, power settings, update settings and notification settings haven’t changed or been tweaked with. I’m at a complete loss here, literally ANY help would be greatly appreciated
