Xbox not letting me play online gamepass games after signing in and trying to play on my laptop

I tried Fortnite it’s the only other online game I have, but I’m pretty sure it takes Xbox live. But it works still to play games online through gamepass, and my sub is still up to date. But when I switch back and forth from console to laptop it quits letting me or her play gamepass games online

do free2play games like 4 Kings Casino work online cause they don't need a sub to play online ?

With regards to the issue, have you tried setting her console as the home Xbox using the account that has the Xbox subscription? If you signed in your account on her console and sign in to another device without setting her console as the Home Xbox, then that is where the issue might arise.

You can try setting her console as the Home Xbox first aside from just signing in your account on her console. You can also follow the steps on this page:

You can only set 1 Home Xbox at a time and setting another console as the Home Xbox will remove the sharing from the previous device.

I got a error saying to sign in but im on my account that had the gamepass on it but it still wont let me play gamepass games and when i check the game is still on gamepass

No he is trying to play online but it wont let him and prompts him to buy gamepass, but he can download and play gamepass games offline
