    (gamebar pc) something went wrong with this widget/party


    whenever i try to join/create an xbox party all my widgets crash and i get an error saying something went wrong with this widget/party. i've tried everything to fix this including resetting gamebar and nothing has worked. any tips?

    Looking For Group PC To Console

    Open Gamebar open Gamebar Widget Menu and add "Looking for group". Done.

    Open Console Companion and do like always. Done

    Don't open Xbox App because Xbox App is not Gamebar nor Companion.

    Never have I used  or started the xbox game bar on this computer. Does this mean I was hacked? How can I find out how someone was able to start xbox live game bar without my knowledge?

    I had the same issue on Saturday when I went to use my laptop, which had been closed and in sleep mode for the day. Gamebar and its widgets were showing on the screen. Would be interested if anyone has got to the bottom of this.

    Game Bar Party only hears me if xbox game bar is actively open

    This is by no means a good fix, but it has worked for me at at least lets you talk to your friends without actively keeping the gamebar open. When you are in a party, hit Win + G and click the pin icon on the "xbox party widget". You will see the overlay on your screen which is a tad annoying, but party chat will actually work and people can hear you.

    I'm having the same exact problem. I tried inviting him to my party but apparently it says I'm offline and it wont let him join.

    It also just happened to me roughly 15 minutes ago
