How to I fix installation error

I have been trying to reinstall Fortnite and it repeatedly begins the download, tell me that it needs an update, and then immediately says “Installation stopped” due to error code 0x87e00031. I have watched videos and browsed reddit threads followed their fixes and after trying everything came to the conclusion that I would need to reset my xbox. After reseting and getting signed in again it still gives me the same error every time. Also it installs “Fortnite Access Token” every time before attempting to install the actual game. I am very fed up and would like some help with this.

Let's try to enable the QoS tagging on this console.

Please go to Settings and select General > Network settings > Advanced settings > QoS tagging settings

Enable both the DSCP and WMM tagging

Reboot the console

Then press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

Unplug everything from the back of your Xbox.

Wait 3 minutes, and then plug the power cord and HDMI back in.

Then, please check if that fixes the issue.

If that still doesn't fix the issue, try to reset the console this way.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to remember the email and password for the account before taking these steps.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info > Reset console.

Select "Reset and keep my games & apps

Do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? If yes, please unplug the hard drive and then perform a power cycle before attempting to install a game again, keep the hard drive unplugged.
