Controller firmware failing to update

I have this same issue and it IS a problem. I manually updated my firmware for each of my controllers BEFORE getting by XO Seven. Now whenever I plug in the headset it prompts me to update firmware (although the sound is already working). When I try and
update it fails without giving an error, then my controller will no longer sync.

This is incredibly annoying and I hope that MS either fix the console's firmware to stop asking me to update or release another firmware update for the controller which fixes the syncing issue.

Bluetooth flips between not recognizing the controller at all, and recognizing it but failing to connect. The above method doesn't work.

As I mentioned in the original post, attempting to roll back the firmware gives a popup:

"this controller is already up to date."

Even though I did a firmware update.

I promise you, this is a firmware issue. Something was broken in the latest update for 1914 model controllers. My brother has the exact same controller and bluetooth module and his works perfectly fine because he didn't update his firmware. My controller worked until I updated mine.

If there's some way you can submit a bug report to the firmware dev team, please do so. On Windows I can't find a way to report this problem directly to Microsoft.

It's odd that both controllers would fail at the same time but through the process of elimination, we can safely assume the issue is with the controller's connection to the headset, whether it is due to physical damage or the controller's most recent firmware
does not support your specific headset. All of the new Xbox One controllers update automatically wirelessly, but if this is due to a controller firmware incompatibility issue, then the only other suggestion I can recommend is to force a firmware update to
both controllers using a micro USB cable or simply just go into Xbox Accessories and select the controller, then select Device Info, select Firmware version and force an update.

The problem doesn't seem to bem on Windows. I tried using the controller in another PC with Windows 10 and it doesn't recognize it either.

I suspect that the controller firmware got corrupted in the failed updating process and that's the cause for the malfunctioning.

Is there are a way to rollback the controller firmware update?

Have anyone tried connecting the controller on a Xbox One console? I also don't own one and couldn't test that possibility. But at the moment that seems to be the best option other than taking it to technical assistance...

I am having the same problem. Each time I try to update a controller, it fails. My controllers have the 1.1.2228.0 firmware. Can anyone confirm that this is the latest?

I even pulled 2 brand new controllers out of the box and flashed them to the same firmware version. Same problem. Interestingly enough, I just bought it on sale just yesterday as well.
