Desktop shortcut Icon disappears several times with several games

Hi, RASMiranda! It's my pleasure to assist you with this today.

Please try to follow these steps. Make sure to close any games and applications before proceeding.

Ensure that you are on the most recent version of the Xbox app and the Game

Microsoft Store app > Downloads > Get updates/Update all

Ensure that you have updated your PC to the most recent version of Windows, including optional updates

PC Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates > Install

Open the Xbox app on PC > (the game) >Manage > Files > Verify and Repair

Sign Out of Your Accounts (Xbox App and Microsoft Store App):

Open the Microsoft Store by pressing Windows Key + S, typing Microsoft Store, and selecting App Settings.

Click on Repair and then Reset the app.

Repeat the same process for the Xbox App and Minecraft Game

Restart Your Device:

After repairing and resetting both apps, restart your device.

Sign back into both the Xbox App and the Microsoft Store using the same email.

create a shortcut for the Game Pass App and put it on your desktop

right click on the icon for the shortcut and select Properties

select the Shortcut tab

select Advanced

select Run as Administrator

I’ve tried the desktop shortcut and nothing happens when I click the shortcut.

As far as the other fixes I’ve tried, I’ve downloaded the Microsoft store through powershell as well as the Xbox insider app. That didn’t seem to do it either.

If it helps diagnose the issue, I’d get windows error messages several minutes after attempting to play games.

Could just be a specific folder he has for stuff to do with 360 on his PC.

I do it all the time to make the desktop look nice instead of having those arrows for shortcuts on icons. I simply make a folder and then create a nice new shiny icon.

Have you tried to create a shortcut for the games on the desktop and try to launch it from there?

On the Xbox App > Right click on the game > Create a desktop shortcut.
