Xbox suddenly wont play Dolby Vision content on Vudu or Movies Anywhere

My Xbox Series X has had no issues with Dolby Vision playback for streaming until the last 3 days. Suddenly it will click over to DV on VUDU and Movies Anywhere but right before playback it will give me an error and just say "Error during playback". I have loaded DV content on the Apple TV app and it works fine. Ive played 4k blu rays on my stand alone player and DV works fine. I've connected the Xbox to a different TV and 2.1 HDMI cable and it still gives the error. It plays DV on games fine but these 2 apps specifically wont work. I've reset the XBOX and deleted the apps/reinstalled them. Nothing works. Ive checked all my settings, every 4k DV setting is on (and HDR) including in dark mode. All my TV settings are fine or it wouldnt play on my stand alone player/Apple tv app on Xbox. Has ANYONE run into this problem?

P.S. It has no issues playing standard HD content and regular HDR/HDR 10 Content.

You would have to contact fandango or MA to fix their app

There is no “fix” or upgrade

It requires the title be re-encoded and QC’d from scratch. This is not fast, and expensive

Assuming you are in the United States, Microsoft is a member of the movies anywhere program. If you sign up with this program and link your account to Xbox as well as other movies anywhere retailers, many of them do offer Dolby Vision versions Including Vudu, and Apple TV. Titles covered under movies anywhere are most movies from 20th Century Fox, Universal, Sony, Warner brothers and Disney

Your existing eligible movies from every service you connect, will also appear on the other services. So if you own it on Xbox, it will show up on iTunes and vice versa

You're welcome. I am constantly looking to see updates on when Microsoft will patch the Xbox's Blu-ray App to support Dolby Vision encoded 4K discs. I've become obsessed with how good Dolby Vision looks, for material that was originally filmed in the
Dolby Vision format. I found your question doing just that, and know there is confusion about it. You kinda have to be a audio/videophile to know for sure what works. I can't wait to watch my discs in Dolby Vision, but for now, since almost everything comes
with a digital copy, I stream my purchased movie library on Vudu so I can view them in Dolby Vision. It'll have to do for now... but I'm not happy about it. Netflix's support for Dolby Vision has been fantastic, but it's output on the Xbox is forced into an
"always on" display setting. Also, Atmos had been working well over Netflix on the Xbox, but for more than the last month, if you play content with Atmos on Netflix, it gives you an error. Simply won't play back. I dunno why this started happening, since
it used to work fine, but they will eventually iron it out to work again. Just thought I'd drop that heads up, too.

There is a way to do this. You need a vudu account and a Movies Anywhere account. You than use movies anywhere and link both you Microsoft account and Vudu account to this account. Most of you movies will than sync to Vudu ( Disney Movies might not).
You than use Vudu on your phone to watch the movies on your mobile device or other devices that support vudu.

I use these account this way. Buy using movies anywhere itunes will also sync.
