Stuck on Insider build (xb_flt_2506), OSU1 fails with E101 – need recovery guidance

OSU1 and OSU2 is not compatible with insiders builds

I have this same problem too, I get stuck on either E101 or E106 after trying all types of reset and OSU restore. I hope MS can post an updated OSU for insider builds or point us in the right direction on how to solve this

E106 then E200 then E101 different codes different times

E101 generally means a hardware failure and the console will need to be repaired.

You could try this.. (Make sure you have your account details)

Disconnect your wired connection from your console to your network hardware, gateway, router etc if you're using wired ethernet.

Perform a console reset, keeping games and apps. If successful and the console displays the Dashboard reconnect your network connection.

If reset is unsuccessful, perform a factory refresh, deleting everything. Make sure your wired connection is disconnected.

After the factory refresh has completed you can reconnect your wired network connection or setup WiFi to reconnect network. If the console connects it should start a System update online and you won't need to use OSU1.

If you decide to use the OSU1 make sure your console is disconnected from the network.

Don't use OSU1 if your console is enrolled in any Xbox Insider previews. It wont work.

If these steps fail, the console needs repairing.

This version is a Insider Omega ring OS so an Offline system update using OSU1 file will fail every time with an error. You need to unenroll the console from the Insiders previews.

E101 points to a hardware issue with the console.

You could try this....

If your using ethernet disconnect it from the console and perform a Factory refresh and delete everything.

If successful the console setup should start. You'll need your account details.

If you keep getting E101 the console needs repairing.

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea how an 11-year-old got himself enrolled in the Insider Omega ring, but I'll definitely look into that. Now for a dumb question: if the system cannot boot up to the home screen, how would it know that it's no longer in the Insider program?

EDIT: I installed the Insider Hub on a PC and signed in using his Microsoft account. It shows that this device isn't enrolled.

Actually that doesnt work either... my x is bricked due to a faulty hdd. I changed the hdd with a working one. Could not get osu to work i then cloned the one s hdd on the same insider preview overwritten the files in the a and b folders in the x:\ drive
of the new hdd same thing happens.... still thinks the version on the nand is superior to the one on hard drive... lost 3 nights trying to figure it out. Im at the point of using a hex editor and try to change the update parameters on the a/b folder systemupdate.vxd
to trick it into thinking its a newer osu? Its really a **** move of microsoft not providing the insider preview osu to insiders. Btw i was able to remove the x from insider preview but there should be a online check for insider preview recovery if they cant
provide us with the osu to get us back going again. This is unacceptable im kot the only one and is extremley fustratng that m$ wants $100 usd for something i could fix myself in a few minutes with the right osu....
