    Xbox Series X weird issues


    Hello,

    I am experiencing a serious system issue with my Xbox Series X.

    The console is out of warranty, but I would appreciate your assistance.

    Here are the details:

    • Game and app downloads are stuck at 0% and do not progress at all (even after many hours).
    • When I try to open the Settings app, I get error code 0x8027025a: “The app took too long to start.”
    • The console sometimes freezes and becomes unresponsive.
    • I have already tried all basic steps: hard reboot (power cycle), cancelling all downloads, unplugging the console and waiting before restarting — no change.
    • There is no issue with my internet connection.
    Could you please advise on possible solutions?

    If offline update or repair service is required, I would also like to know the options and costs.

    Hello JamiryoFC, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

    This sounds like an issue with your internal hard drive and may need to be repaired. If the console is out of warranty you may want to check with your local gaming store.

    In the meantime though you could try a full factory reset deleting all games and apps to see if that helps. Please make sure that you know the email/password for all accounts before doing this.

    If you like you could try installing Xbox games to an external hard drive to see if they'll download there and then play. Series X/S games would need to be installed to the Xbox Series X/S Expansion Drive or they will not play.

    It would be the only explanation for the problem to happen only on Xbox series x, which is weird.

    Thanks! The weird thing is, this issue only happens with series x games. Forza horizon 4 looks perfect. It’s just the new multiplayer halo and Forza Horizon 5.
