Why is youtube suddenly requiring microphone access in order for me to sign in on my series x?

I've had my series x for a few years now. The youtube voice search has never worked properly. So why in the seven levels of hell should I be required to give any access to an app that doesn't actually require it?

Will youtube stop working if it can't access my microphone? Will large armed soldiers suddenly burst into my home because I didn't click some arbitrary checkbox?

I'll just uninstall the app instead of giving it permission it doesn't need.

I am also suddenly unable to access my unlisted playlists. It does not make sense since I used to be able to watch them just fine. I can access them on my other devices when signed into YouTube - why no longer Xbox??

Youtube may be a free service but the bandwidth that xbox supplies for people to access the service is not. This is the reason that most apps require a gold membership in order to access them.

After investigating further via the audio playback tool in the sound control panel. the problem is my blue Yeti Microphone. using a different microphone the problem completely disappeared.

But I'd really like to use my Blue Yeti Microphone as the quality is simply better. if you would know, Is there why in some game scenarios specifically games that are more demanding why a microphone's quality would drop or suddenly cut out?
