In game chat using remote play.

So I'm trying to use remote play to play games on my pc, and while I can hear my friends through the in game chat they can't hear me. I've verified that all my PC security/privacy settings are set up properly, my default device is set up as the headset I'm using, I'm not muted, and the Xbox game bar app can recognize my audio when I speak. However my friends are unable to hear me speak neither in game or through Xbox party chat, but i can hear them and the game audio.

Please check the steps below.

It is possible that your microphone is not set as the default input device in your Remote Play settings. To fix this, try the following steps:

Access your Remote Play settings on your computer

Select Audio and make sure your microphone is selected as the default input device

Restart the Remote Play application and try using your microphone again

If this does not work, try restarting your computer and see if your microphone is working properly in other applications. If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Remote Play application.

You won't get the party chat audio trough the remote play in console companion app, as you can use the party chat trough the Xbox app or game bar, so it's not necessary to have it on the console and shared trough remote play.

What specifically doesn't work? The stream audio or the party audio?

Was that not covered in the OPs post?

Seems to me that the OP is playing using the Remote Play function but the Microphone doesn't work when in a party chat whilst using the Remote Play. the Mic works fine when directly connected to the Xbox or used via the Xbox App

If you.using.a console with any game you can remote play but that console can only be used for that while remote play is used

Cloud gaming uses a.console servers but.requires a subscription and only games that support cloud play

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with Remote play.

Your Xbox may not be in "Sleep" mode, which is necessary for remote play capabilities, or you may not have enabled the remote features in your console settings if "remote play" is not available. Check your console settings under "Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features" to ensure it's enabled
