I can’t install games on my son’s Xbox after a request is sent to the family safety app. There’s been two games that I purchased and one game that was free. It consistently says that the game has already been installed, but the games are not there..

It sounds like there may be a sync issue between the Xbox and the Microsoft Family Safety app, especially if the games are showing as installed but not appearing.

Please try these steps:

1) Restart the Xbox. Hold the power button for 10 seconds to fully shut it down, then turn it back on.

2) Check under “Full Library” > “All Owned Games”. Sometimes approved games don’t auto-install but can be manually installed from this section.

3) Recheck the Microsoft Family Safety app. Make sure the purchase approval fully completed: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil...

4) Sign out and back in. Both on the Xbox and the Family Safety app, to resync account status.

Hi Jessica,

Are you controlling your sons account through the family safety features of your Microsoft account or just through the options on the Xbox itself? I ask because I control friend requests through the family safety app on my phone and wasnt asked to set up a pin for my son.

The problem is not on Xbox. The problem is associated with the Microsoft Family Safety App as well as the online Family Safety website.

There was no option under the list of “products” close to the Family Safety App except under Xbox when I submitted this request for help. Nor is there a “chat” or “phone” support option for the App…

I appreciate the above info but it is all unrelated to the Family Safety App which affects use across more than just Xbox, such as laptop, online access etc. for kids in the family.

Any help on the App and notification settings within the App is what I am looking for support on.
