Update broke LFG

I hear you, and you’re definitely not the only one running into this right now. Since you're part of the Xbox Insider Alpha Skip-Ahead, what you’re seeing with the LFG posts is most likely a bug that came with the June 18 system update. The fact that it’s happening across multiple profiles and games—even after a factory reset—really points to the update being the cause, not anything account-related.

Here’s what you can try:

1. Check the Insider Hub for known issues

Open the Xbox Insider Hub on your console

Go to Previews > Xbox Update Preview, then scroll to Known Issues

There’s a good chance the LFG bug is already listed there. Also, check the Announcements tab—they sometimes post workarounds or timelines for a fix.

2. Report the problem (if you haven’t already)

Even if it seems like they know, the more reports they get, the faster it’ll get attention.

Press and hold the Xbox button

Choose Report a problem

Under category, pick Multiplayer and Online Gaming > Looking for Group

Be sure to mention you’re in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring and the issue started after the June 18 update.

3. Can you uninstall the update?

Unfortunately, no, you can’t roll back system updates while you’re in the Insider program, especially Skip-Ahead. If you want to leave the preview builds:

Open the Insider Hub

Go to Manage > Xbox Update Preview

Choose Leave preview

After that, you’ll need to do another factory reset, and it may take a while (sometimes weeks) for your console to fully move back to the regular public build.

4. A possible workaround for now

Some users say they can still respond to LFG posts using the Xbox mobile app, so give that a shot. Also, if you create your own LFG post, that sometimes works even when replying doesn’t.

This definitely seems like something on Microsoft’s side, and if you’re part of Skip-Ahead, stuff like this is expected from time to time. Hopefully, they patch it soon.

LFG is finding someone to play the game with; how else am I supposed to find someone with the required materials? You're not specific about what rule I broke. I certainly was not advertising or offering real money for services. So what's the issue? So you are basically saying I can't look for people in LFG (though it's in the name) for an in-game feature? How is that fair?
