Why does my Turtle Beach Stealth 500 only have audio coming out of the right headphone

First, make sure your headset microphone is not muted. Go to Sound Settings > Microphone > Input Volume, set the volume to 100, and test by speaking or lightly tapping the headset microphone to see if the microphone meter registers activity.

After that, check your microphone privacy settings in Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Make sure the Xbox app and your gaming apps have microphone access enabled.

I have a pair of Turtle Beach wireless headphones
with a usb audio connection and the mic works great!

There has been a fully wireless headset out for a month, the Turtle Beach Stealth 500X, they are expensive but if it's fully wireless you're after

I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 headphones, the connect wirelessly to the Xbox direct. I can hear both ingame audio, sounds and i can also hear chats from other team members as well as chat myself!

it does suck I know...at the moment the only option to get true surround sound out of the Xbox one is the buy the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x or use the Turtle Beach XP500 from the 360.
