Steam games not launching on Windows 11 24H2 – stuck in background process

you would have to contact steam and probably the developers for help with games purchased from their online store

Same here game not launching and goes to Background processes.

Why are there so many problems with Microsoft Store games?

Very very true statement...on a trial of Games pass Ultimate and nothing but problems with Windows store games and nothing but ignorance from MS staff...back to steam games for me and glad the trial only cost me a knicker.

I selected compatibility mode and chose windows 7 and the reply from my windows 11 24h2 said the changes were ready, or something positive like that, but but still cfs3 would open.Other postings I've seen on line describe its running in 10 and 11

It's most noticeable in a game called Anarchy Online which runs on Direct3D 9.

Video players run fine, but I've also experienced it recently with programs running on older .NET Framework 4.8.

When you're watching a video in full screen and switch to another software and then back, do you also experience this issue?

Or is it only in games?

Could you share the name of the game?

I play many games, but not all of them have this issue. It seems to occur depending on the game's optimization and graphics settings.

For example, some games don't exhibit this issue when set to full screen or windowed full screen.

Maybe you could try that.

If possible, you could record a demonstration video and share it.

This would help me understand the situation better.
