Controllers won't connect to my Xbox 1 S during setup

I tried everything already in that guide.

My Xbox One S controller is running firmware 3.1.1215.0.

I can't tell if is it the controller or is it the Xbox One S.

My feeling says it is cause by the Xbox One S update of last weekend, cause it was working before.

And also, i did a hard reset and like i wrote before the controller was working wireless, till during the setup it did an update and a restart. After this i could not connect the controller wirelles anymore.

I have both my console and soundbar plugged into my TV. My Xbox One S is connected to HDMI 1 and my soundbar is connected to HDMI 2 (ARC). It's the recommended setup.

It's also the exact same setup as before with my old Xbox One.

Again, with this setup I am not able to get surround sound on the S, which didn't happen with the non-S.

I can't get my HR24 to connect to the xbox at all. I get picture and can watch through xbox but it has no voice controls and doesn't do anything during setup

If you're attempting to do what I think you you are, it won't work. As soon as you connect a cabled Xbox One or Series X|S controller to a different USB connector it will try to data sync/connect to that device and will disconnect from the previous device. This is why it is recommended that you charge the controller during play directly with the console.

If it's not working on your house's WiFi, do you have a different network connection that we can try to use such as a mobile hotspot? This way we can check if it's an issue with the Xbox console itself or just a setting on your home WiFi.
