    So, I had an issue with my Xbox one S console where it would boot up to the Xbox green loading screen but would not advance to the actual console interface. I tried to factory reset the console, and it did get me to a new screen that said the console was updating. The update would not ever finish and would say update error or something. After researching THIS problem, I found that I can do an offline update using a USB stick. I download the update, do every single step with the files, like extracting them, then formatting my flashdrive to the right format, plug it in and boot up the troubleshoot menu, only to find the offline system update option greyed out. I can't click on it.

    I'm sorry you're having this problem with your Xbox One.

    Try updating your Xbox One with a USB flash drive.

    Follow the steps below and in the link.

    To update the system, you need to download the OSU1 .zip file ( https://www.xbox.com/xboxone/osu1 ), extract it, and keep only the $SystemUpdate folder inside the USB flash drive. After doing all this, the "Offline System Update" option will be available.

    Another option you can try is to perform a full system restart from the Troubleshooting screen, which will prompt you to connect to the internet, and the console should update automatically.

    My Original Xbox is not cooperating. I desperately need help.

    To add more info, like a month or two ago i had to factory reset the console due to the green screen of doom or whatever. The xbox won't load the green screen right now and will only connect to the tv when it reaches the troubleshoot menu. The "Offline
    System Update" option is greyed out and i can't use it.
