My controller sync will work but not the Xbox’s

I’ve tried everything including reading stuff from here, like turnimg off for 10 sec and unplugging for 30s to going into setting and linking controller that way it still will not link.

I’ll work with usb cord to play but as soon as you unplug it un syncs what is going on this Xbox isn’t but about 3 weeks old

    :)

    Xbox syncing isn’t working

Hello, and thanks for getting in touch. I'm Aileen, and I'm here to provide you with advice as an independent advisor.

If your controller only works while plugged in and won’t stay synced wirelessly — even after trying restarts and settings — that usually points to one of a few issues:

First, make sure there are no wireless interference sources nearby like routers, metal shelves, or other Bluetooth devices. Try moving your Xbox to a different spot or clearing the area around it.

    Next, double-check your controller firmware:

Plug in your controller with a USB cable

    Press the Xbox button

Go to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories

Select your controller > click the three dots > Update

If that doesn’t help, try re-pairing the controller this way:

Hold the Sync button on the Xbox until it flashes

Hold the Sync button on the controller until it flashes

Wait until both stop flashing and stay lit

Since the console is only 3 weeks old, you’re well within warranty. If syncing still fails, the internal wireless module in the Xbox itself could be the issue. Before considering repair, try this last check:

Test another wireless controller, if possible

If that one also fails to stay synced, it confirms it’s the Xbox’s wireless radio

If a second controller works fine, the first controller may be faulty instead

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Looking forward to your response.

    Cloud sync isn’t working

    Hello TROYBAISCH,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused you. We understand that you have lost both your local and cloud saves for the past month, despite playing and saving regularly on your Series X. We also understand that you have tried several troubleshooting steps, such as deleting and reinstalling the game, and using cloud gaming only, but none of them have resolved the problem. We appreciate your feedback and we are aware that some other users have reported similar issues with Starfield on the Series X. In the meantime, please do not delete any more data from your console or cloud storage, as it may affect the recovery process.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve it:

    - Check the Xbox Live service status and see if there are any outages or maintenance that could affect cloud syncing. You can do this by visiting Xbox Status | Xbox Support

    - Clear the local saved games cache on your console. To do this, go to Settings > System > Storage > Clear local saved games. This will not delete any of your cloud saves, but it will force your console to sync with the cloud again.

    - Power cycle your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10 seconds, then unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds. This will clear any temporary files and refresh your console's connection.

    - Try playing Starfield offline and see if your local saves are restored. To do this, go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Go offline. Then launch Starfield and load your game. If you see your recent saves, you can go back online and try syncing them with the cloud.

    - If none of these steps work, you may need to contact Bethesda support and report the issue with Starfield. They may have more specific solutions or updates for this game. You can reach them at Home - Bethesda Support

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I appreciate your cooperation and understanding. Have a great day!

Old Xbox 360 controller not working on slim

The old controller work with the Xbox 360 slim. Have you been following these steps to sync your controller?:

To sync them up, power on the Xbox and the controller. Then push the sync button on the Xbox (small black button next to the USB ports on the front), then push the sync button on the controller (location varies depending on the type of controller). When
you push the sync button the green light will spin in a circle (on both the Xbox and the controller). If the light doesn’t spin in a circle then it isn’t in sync mode and you might have a problem with the controller.

I did this with my own Xbox slim and my old controllers so I know it is possible.

Here is a youtube video of someone showing it work/how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWGdw_oi0Xc

    Hope it works! Happy gaming!

    Cloud Sync Not Working

This moderator is clearly copying and pasting old data from the Xbox One days. This troubleshoot doesn’t work on Xbox Series X or S consoles.

“Cloud saved games” isn’t an option anymore.

I can’t find how to force a cloud sync. I can’t play Starfield on my other console in another room because the data won’t sync.

What’s the point of cloud saving if it doesn’t actually save???

My Xbox controller isn’t syncing and most of the buttons aren’t working when the sync works

    good evening

It sounds like there might be an issue with your Xbox controller, and you've already tried several common troubleshooting steps to resolve it. If none of the fixes you've tried have worked, it's possible that the controller is broken and needs to be replaced.

as a player I can only inform and the joystick has a 90-day warranty, microsoft does not carry out out-of-date repairs.

If it is within the deadline, request the repair:

it is necessary to register the product on the microsoft website and open a work order.
