Issues with the Xbox series S connecting to tv as well as controller

I bought my son an Xbox S, it started out great, but shortly after owning the Xbox it would stop connecting to controllers and now it won’t connect to a controller or the tv, tried different HDMI cable as well as changing TVs and still won’t connect.

We tried a wireless and a wired controller no difference either, any options would be great! Hell even if there is anyone around who can repair this would be great too only had it for a couple months.

    :)

Issues with the Xbox series S connecting to tv as well as controller

Hi, Charles! It's my pleasure to assist you with this today.

Kindly try to do these steps and check if it will fix the issue.

Then press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

Unplug everything from the back of your Xbox.

Wait 3 minutes, and then plug the power cord and HDMI back in.

Then, please check if that fixes the issue.

If that still didn't fix the issue, try to manually reset the console this way.

    - Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired connection.

    - Power off your console, then unplug the power cord to fully shut it down.

    - Wait for 30 seconds.

    - Plug the power cord back in.

    - Press and hold the BIND button (used to sync controllers) and the EJECT button, then press the Xbox button on the console.

    - Keep holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    - Listen for two “power-up” tones a few seconds apart.

**Note:** If you don’t hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds or hear any “power-down” chirps, the process has failed.

    - Once you hear the second power-up tone, release the BIND and EJECT

    buttons.

    - The console should start and display the Troubleshooting screen.

    - From there, choose Reset this Xbox, then select Keep Games and Apps.

The process will take a few minutes, and afterward, you’ll be greeted by the console setup assistant.

Note: The Xbox Series S and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition do not have an

Eject button. For these consoles, simply hold the Pair button and press the Xbox button.

Let me know if that works. Thank you!

Has anyone had the controller boards of two different TVs burn out from the Xbox s?

Hello TimGraff1, My name is Khaji I am the independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

While it is possible for electronics to experience issues or failures, it would be highly unusual for the Xbox Series S console to directly cause the controller boards of two different TVs to burn out. The HDMI connection between the Xbox and the TV is designed to transmit audio and video signals, and it typically does not have the capability to cause damage to the TV's internal components.

There could be other factors or coincidences at play that are leading to the issues with your TVs. It's important to consider other potential causes such as faulty HDMI cables, power surges, or issues with the TVs themselves. Additionally, it's worth noting that the Xbox Series S is designed to comply with industry standards and undergoes rigorous testing to ensure compatibility and prevent damage to connected devices.

If you're experiencing consistent issues with multiple TVs when using the Xbox Series S, it may be worth reaching contacting the TV manufacturers for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance based on your setup and help troubleshoot the issue.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects to Samsung frame TV, but does not work to control any functions on screen

    I have the same issue:

    * the plain Xbox controller (non elite) connects via bluetooth to the TV and is recognised by the Xbox cloud app on my Samsung TV. I can use it to play games using the Samsung Xbox app.

    * the brand new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects via bluetooth to the TV and is NOT recognised by the Xbox cloud app.

I tried several attempts deleting the pairing, re-pairing. Turn off TV on the power switch. Re-installing the Xbox app on the Samsung TV.

The result is always the same:

    * The Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects successfully to the TV and is shown as Paired and Connected in the Samsung TVs feature where you add external devices.
    * But the Xbox app shows the yellow ! exclamation mark and does not recognise the Elite Controller.

I’ve paired my other non Elite standard Xbox controller now vie Bluetooth and USB, which works both.
