Unexpected error keeps occurring with the Minecraft Launcher on Linux.

A little while ago I built a new PC and installed Arch Linux on it. I created a new Minecraft account, but I'm experiencing many issues with the Minecraft Launcher.

First, I'm unable to launch any version except for 1.12.5. It always says that an unexpected error occurred.

When I try to launch 1.12.5, sometimes the game will automatically go into fullscreen mode, which then crashes my game. This happens about 50% of the time. The other half of the time, the game launches normally without problems. When the game crashes this way, it gives the same unexpected error message.

are you using the Windows version or Minecraft Java?

I am using ChromeOS and downloaded Minecraft via Linux (Beta) using the Minecraft Launcher

I'm on Linux (Ubuntu-based distro specifically) and using the official Minecraft Launcher and I'm having the same issue too.
