Can I add more RAM to my Geobook 3X?

The problem isn't actually a technical one, but a logistical one. A consoles initial product run is implemented, and planned many months in advance to have enough of the units on shelves at launch. The hardware has to be entirely fixed at this point in time,
and if Microsoft opted for a redesign this late in the game. They would be forced to throw away a lot of parts they had ordered, and paid upfront for many months ago. Basically the console was already in production before the unveiling.

We are talking about a unified architecture, and you are talking about splitting the architecture. Between two models that would be capable of drastically different things. What would Microsoft say to the early adopters when games that come down the pipe
a couple years later can play on the newer higher RAM models, but not on the older models. That would just serve to undermine trust in the platform further. Nobody will buy one, because they will be afraid a better one will come out in a couple more months,
and they wont be able to play all of the games without getting the new one.

8gb RAM is plenty, GDDR would have been better for graphics... all that aside it's not the amount of RAM or even the quality, it's how they have chosen to use it that is the problem. IMHO The PS4 is still going to have better architecture, bandwidth and
gpu. Minus the production problems they are having, no the architecture is not ideal but manageable, but wasting resources is the problem. If they used the hardware wisely than it wouldn't be such and issue, but what they have created is a terrible waste
of money, time and resources for very little benefit elsewhere.

Ram isn't going to be the thing that causes the consoles downfall and for the reference, the amount of RAM isn't even as big of a deal as Sony / MS wants you to believe which is why they refuse to release the important specs (IE: What the CPUs are clocked
at and the GPUs). The majority of the console playerbases don't even know that much about computers which is why when they say 8gb of ram everybody just goes "OMG!". Right now I got 8gb of ram in my PC and I don't even break 5gb with multiple games running
+ stuff in the background on top of that. I mean the OS uses 1.5gb of ram itself as well. The big thing for games is VRAM.

On a side note, it's probably too late now for them to do any kind of major changes.

For alot of people the deal breaker is the controller in that case get an MLG playstation control with adjustable analogs. Now you have an xbox control on playstation.
