My account is locked and the recovery email is not mine

Choose “Hacked account” and follow the steps to flag the situation for Microsoft’s investigation team.

Avoid sending reset links to that unknown email:

If prompted to send a code to an email you don’t recognize, do not proceed; it could give an attacker a reset path. Instead, always choose “I don’t have any of these” if that option appears.

Unfortunately, if Microsoft support doesn’t recognize enough proof of ownership, it may limit recovery options. That’s why it helps to do this from a known device and IP address you’ve used before.

How do I check which Xbox Account emails use my Xbox Email as a security contact email if the account is locked?

Unfortunately unless you have access to a recovery account you will need to contact xbox support.

I do also have proof that the account is mine with emails to phone numbers and recovery stuff

disregard. this post. for some reason the email that xbox has locked in is the completely wrong one. but i'm not sure if account recovery will work with the email that doesn't exist anymore

So you are locked out of the Xbox account and the E-mail? Is the email with Microsoft as well?

have you tried the compromised account recovery solution that requires you using a different email address to recover the account?
