"Preparing Console" Screen after XBOX Reset won't finish

This morning, we ran into the E200 error, and have to begin troubleshooting. But the issue is, when we go to Reset the console (while keeping the games and apps), the "Preparing Console" load screen only makes it to 58% and then stops dead. It goes right back to the Error Screen and says something went wrong again. While doing this, the power to the XBOX seemingly blips? I don't know how to describe it: the light goes off, then on again in rapid succession, and it's a toss-up as to whether or not the controller stays on afterwards.

This is really annoying. This is step one to possibly fixing the system, and we can't even complete it. Right now, it's a white brick that only claims to be able to fix itself, but only gets partway through the bar before seemingly breaking again. I'm really not sure we have the cash for a new XBOX One, and I don't think we have any flash drives for an offline update (if that would even help at all.)

Our system is a white XBOX One S that we've had for a little bit, but surely not long enough to be just completely broken.

Any solutions or information would be helpful!

I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

You need to try the offline update. It may work if your console isn't experiencing any hardware-related issues. If that doesn't work, it could be a more serious issue that should be examined by a technician.

Yes i tried that but when i press reset it comes up on a grey screen saying ‘preparing console’ but then i get sent back to the error screen seconds after. Its seems that i am unable to reset my xbox at all.

I just reset and it is on the screen "preparing console"

Have tried it and still won't load. It gets to the preparing console screen then comes up with something went wrong

Hi, I have already tried this multiple times, and it didn't work.

Surprisingly, after leaving it on, I was taken to the start up error screen, where I could reset the console. I chose to factory reset it keeping games and apps. It took a while to factory reset the console, but when it did, the same thing happened when I booted it up. HDMI not displaying anything for a while, and when it did, it actually booted with the "Preparing xbox" screen, after waiting for 20 or so minutes. I then got a system error: "E102 00000C10 8007045D", only giving me the options of resetting the xbox and removing everything, restarting the xbox, and turning it off. I will attempt to restart the xbox now.

Sorry to hear that. It should be an hard drive error. The only thing that you can try if the problem persists is to reset your console using a USB flash drive (scroll down until you see the section "Reset using a USB flash drive").

After restarting the Xbox, the same thing happened. The Xbox screen didn't display, then after a few minutes it did, only displaying a black screen. After a few minutes, the screen finally begun saying "Preparing your Xbox", then after that the error popped up again, the error being "E102 00000C12 8007045D". I now have access to the troubleshooting menu once again, so I can reset, however the reset button only allows me to Reset the Xbox and remove everything. Other than that, I cannot do anything else. I have some games saved on a 1TB External hard drive, so Should I remove the drive and then reset everything? If so, is the only method of fixing and/or resetting the Xbox done via a USB Method?
