    Microsoft locked my account because I logged into it.


    Hey so my account was hacked and I contacted support. They made me submit a form with all the evidence. I submitted it and waited for like 2 weeks. I also filled out an account recovery webpage. They one day they sent me a password reset link. I used it and changed my password and got inside my account. I tried changing my email but it said

    "Your security info will be replaced after 30 days, on 6/26/2025. But don't worry, during the waiting period you can still sign in and use your Microsoft account normally."

    Then the next day they email me saying they are going to lock my account because my security info was changed. I changed the security info because they provided me with the link to do so and because of that they locked my account.

    And now they say
    "Regrettably, the Minecraft portion of your account, cannot be recovered. As a result, we recommend repurchasing the game on a new account to continue enjoying its benefits.



    We are unable to recover, replace, refund, or transfer anything that was associated with this account. Microsoft does not have the capabilities to complete your request to transfer the account data."

    So their solution is that I just buy a new copy of the game I own?

    It says it has been locked out for breaking microsoft terms and conditions. But I dont recall doing anything because I made the account, downloaded some games, and then logged off my pc. I havent used it and came back to it with this.

    Thanks for reading my post.

    I believe Mojang was contacted through Minecraft.net which we were informed that this was not their problem since everything has been migrated over to Microsoft. The issue is that we cannot log into (name of family member's) Microsoft account through the Microsoft webpage log in or Minecraft client due to the account being locked due to who knows what.

    Every time I buy a PC with Windows I need to create a new Microsoft account because as soon as the account is created I am immediately locked out of it. So I know this issue is a very common one that should have an answer but I cannot find it.

    We just need stable access to this account so that (family member) can continue to enjoy this service.
