    Microsoft has taken it upon themselves to enable devices to power on automatically for updates—removing the owner's ability to control when or even if these updates occur. There’s no built-in option to fully prevent this behavior short of physically unplugging the device. This is a clear overstep.



    The same issue applies to OneDrive. I’ve had to repeatedly uninstall it, only for it to forcefully reinstall itself with every major Windows update. It automatically starts uploading files to Microsoft’s cloud service without any meaningful benefit to the user. Cloud storage and power aren’t free—so if Microsoft isn’t charging for this by default, one must ask: how are they profiting from this? The standard answer is unsettling—likely through the collection and monetization of personal data.



    This is yet another example of Microsoft disregarding the boundaries of ownership. They act as though our computers still belong to them, exerting control over user settings and limiting our ability to manage our own devices. It's a deeply flawed approach that erodes user trust.

    I’ve been having the same issue with my Xbox One. Ever since Xbox did an update on the controller, it crapped out. I’ve called them over and over and they haven’t been able to help me. They said my controller was faulty so I bought a new one. Same problem. The controller keeps disconnecting for no reason but the home button will remain on. I can’t turn off the Xbox with my controller, I can’t do anything with it. That has been happening for about a week. They’re sending me a new one and I’m willing to bet I’ll still have the same problem. This is total garbage and Xbox NEEDS to fix this ASAP!

    I haven’t connected my controller to anything in a month, I do keep dropping it, BTW this is only when I start (turn on) the controller.

    No one has used my controller.

    And my other Xbox is 200mi away from me. Don’t think that would connect. 😂
