    I use a Sony PS4 DualShock Wireless Controller (STANDARD GAMEPAD – Vendor: 054c, Product: 09cc).

    This gamepad supports Bluetooth and works perfectly on both Android devices and Windows 11 PCs.

    However, the Xbox app on Windows lacks a built-in third-party controller layer, so I can't use this gamepad directly in games through the app.

    While I can get it to work using XInput emulation, native support—similar to what Steam offers—should be available in the Xbox app as well.

    Why do DualShock 4 controllers not register as controllers on my PC?

    Well you have to address it with ds4win since that's the driver you are using

    The alternative is using USB or steam just renember to select use on non steam games or external apps

    Sony does not support pc as a platform you have to use a third party program like ds4win or steam for bluetooth

    I know but DS4Windows does not register my controller as connected. Works on my console but not the PC even though it worked before with NO PLUGINS OR APPLICATIONS.

    That’s not possible except for Cloud Streaming. Steam Deck runs Linux, and the Xbox app doesn’t support PC streaming.

    You’ll have to install Windows to play Windows Store games on Steam deck natively or stream using a third party solution from a Windows PC

    The wired 360 controller for Windows can be used on any game that supports gaming controllers, not just Games for Windows titles. Even if your PC game doesn't support a controller you can always use a third party app on your computer like Xpadder.

    I use my 360 wired pad to play on emulators, as well as PC games.

    sony don't have open drivers for pc, you need a third party program called ds4 to use it, and it is finicky to work with gamepass games due to microsoft not supporting all controllers for windows store games.

    ds4 maps the ps4 controller as a x-input controller to get it to work.

    unlike steam that has ps controller support that you enable under steam settings.
