Do i really need a credit card to redeem an xbox gamepass ultimate code ?

I have just aquired an xbox gamepass giftcard, when i tried to redeem it said that i needed to l add a way of payment, the 2 choices are either using a giftcard, when i select it i get a message saying i can't for now, and the second option is pay, wich i cant because i dont have anyway to pay digitally, please help me find a solution

Yes, a payment method is required to use the card. There is no way around that. It starts a recurring subscription (which can be turned off after redeemed).

if i go to the shops and buy a game pass ultimate subscription do i still need to add a credit card when redeeming that subscription and downloading games on the game pass? i really don't want to add a credit card and it's **** that you have to unless you're actually planning on buying stuff with the CC.

Hello, JT8804. Your question's answer is no.

Only use Game Pass code, download games and play its. So, you do not have to credit card if you go to the shops and buy a Game Pass Ultimate code.

After when you used Game Pass code, you do not need any credit card.

What about needing credit card, will I need it when redeeming this free Ultimate code and convert. I don't want to give my credit card number. I often use gift cards to avoid this.
