Account Recovery Denied

Hi,

I’m seeking help recovering access to my son’s Xbox account, which is linked to my wife’s Microsoft account: *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***.

We submitted the account recovery form, but it was denied. The Virtual Agent says support can’t assist further — but we have strong proof of ownership and would like to escalate the case.

Background:

• The account belongs to our 10-year-old son and is regularly used on our home Xbox.

• It’s linked to *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***, but my son is the sole user.

• We have the following information ready:

• ✅ Xbox Serial Number

• ✅ Product ID

• ✅ Gamertag

• ✅ Home IP and device details

• ✅ Purchase history and console receipts

We are the legal guardians and can provide further proof if needed. We’re locked out and simply want to restore access for our child — this is very distressing for him.

Can a Microsoft moderator or support representative please help us escalate this case or manually verify ownership?

We are happy to share the full details in private.

indeed it's such a shame not being able to make purchases. This is even true with child accounts in New Zealand, I'm afraid there's nothing Xbox can do regarding this even if you allow purchases by signing in to the parental account, since this has already
been mandated by the government. In any case, if you wish to get access to the parental email of the account, you need to go through the account recovery procedure on Windows Live, to get an Account REcovery Request number, then get in touch with Xbox support,
and request for an escalation for a password reset for the parental email.

If it's not possible to proceed with the account recovery webform, nothing to worry, there is still a way for you to recover your hacked account.

You will need to contact Microsoft Xbox support as they have the tools to escalate your case to the Account Escalation Team for an account recovery.

We do not have tools here to use for an account escalation since we are independent advisors but no worries, I will directly reroute you to Microsoft Xbox support.

The account recovery team wouldn't have any use with your serial number or your console id. They would need the information that was entered when the parental account was setup to prove ownership. If you're unable to provide it, there's nothing they would
be able to do for you.

Hello Jim,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue with the account. You will have to use the account recovery option to try and recover the account. You can try the recovery form as many times as needed. Make sure that name and Birthdate are correct, put in
a couple passwords when asks for last passwords used. Support used to help with account recovery, but they changed it with the

account recovery form. With the Xbox live id, if it is an Xbox one it starts with FD, on a 360:

Note The Xbox 360 console ID can only be found in the Xbox Dashboard. The console ID is different from the console serial number.

Go to settings and select System.
Select Console Settings.
Select System Info. The console ID is displayed on the screen, below the console serial number (which is also displayed on the screen).

Important note for device ID, it needs to be the console the account was last on.
