XBOX account synced to wrong profile

Hi all. I am hoping for help because I am the most annoyed person on Earth right now.

I have an xbox. The gamertag I use is associated to a specific email.

When I go to my microsoft account and select "your profile" for my xbox under the "your info" tab in the settings, it takes me to an old xbox gamertag I dont use.

I have been trying for HOURS to select the account I use now. its under the correct email but for some reason its always resorting to the old gamertag I dont use.

This all stems from the absolute nightmare that is epic games and trying to link my xbox to my epic games account so my son can use gift cards to play fortnite.

I am seriously so exhausted with all of this nonsense and I dont know what else to do. does ANYONE know how to get the correct accounts linked together on Microsoft so i can end my agony of figuring this whole thing out on my own?

Hi, I am Mariano, an independent advisor from the Microsoft-Xbox community. I am sorry you are going through this issue, let us try to fix it

First, to clarify: a gamertag is linked to a single Microsoft account. If when you sign in at https://account.microsoft.com you see an old gamertag you no longer use, it’s very likely you signed in with a different email that also has an old Xbox account linked.

I suggest:

1. Sign out completely from all Microsoft sites, including Xbox.com and account.microsoft.com.

2. Sign in only with the email you currently use on your Xbox, the one with the correct gamertag. You can check it by going to:

https://www.xbox.com > Sign in > Then click your avatar (top right) and select “My Xbox profile”. If you see your current gamertag there, that’s the right account.

In Epic Games:

1. Sign in at https://www.epicgames.com/account/connections.

Disconnect any Xbox accounts that are not the right one.

Then reconnect the Xbox account that has your current gamertag. Make sure you sign in with that account in the browser.

2. If you have more than one Microsoft account with different emails, you can use this tool to find out which gamertag belongs to which email:

Hello Ellz,

Sorry for the issue with sending invites. We recommend try
remove and reinstall your profile. If there is something wrong with the profile this will sync it again when you reinstall the profile.

the livechat suggested a complete kill of the profile on the box and it didn't change anything after new account and syncing fm6...it's still not working...

tested today a new record and that works well...don't know whats wrong with the other one...

What if it is a Xbox profile syncing issue? I don't have another account to test with but I could try out whatever it takes to fix that problem just in case it is a syncing problem.

I unlocked 3 achievements this past weekend in Burn The Rope on my Windows Phone 8.1. The one I unlocked on the 26th synced fine. The ones I unlocked on the 27th and 28th have not synced. Additionally, I have accepted the most recent ToS and an achievement
I unlocked on my Xbox One on the 28th has synced with my profile, so there is definitely something wrong with WP syncing achievements right now.
