Assistance Needed for Refund Request on Unredeemed Gifted Add-On

Dear Customer Service,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to request assistance with a refund for an add-on I gifted to my brother. Unfortunately, he has no use for the add-on, and I believe I am eligible for a refund based on the 14-day return policy for unredeemed items.

The issue I am encountering is as follows:

1. I can see the payment for the add-on in the settings tab on my Xbox, showing the amount spent, the card used, and the recipient. However, when I click on it, no additional options or details appear.

2. I attempted to process the refund via the Xbox website, but the option to return the item does not show up, even though the code has not been redeemed by my brother.

3. The purchase does appear under my transactions in Microsoft 365, but there is no option to initiate a refund there either.

I have verified that the code remains unredeemed, and based on the policy, I should qualify for a refund. Could you please guide me on how to proceed with this request? If additional details or proof of purchase are required, I would be happy to provide them.

If you can't request a refund through the website or http://account.microsoft.com then you'll need to contact support and speak to billng.http://support.xbox.com/contact-us Change the category/topic until it gives the option to request a refund.

Hi Sean. If the code is game is unredeemed you should be able to get a refund for it online.

You must request a refund for an unredeemed code within 14 days of making the purchase. If the code has been redeemed, it will not be possible to process a refund, even if it's within 14 days of purchase.

To do this, go to your order history page, find the item, and select Refund information: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/

Yes, there is! Just go here and follow the steps. and it has to be (digital) if not then you need to take it back to the store with proof of purchase. Edit: Yes this does work with the Microsoft store. The xbox store is linked to the Microsoft store.

'' As the sender, you can return the gifted item for a refund. The recipient can’t return or exchange the gift code. Check your order history to request a refund.''
