    Can't Install Gamepass Games with Xbox app or Microsoft Store on windows 10


    Over the last 3 days I've spent probably a dozen hours searching the internet following every guide i can to try and fix this, and I'm about ready to start demanding a refund on my subscription.

    less then 2 weeks ago i was able to download and install Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remaster, but everything broken when I tried downloading Doom. At this point I can't download anything, even games that we're previously working.

    here's what Ive tried so far:

    1. fully updated windows, I've even manually downloaded an update that dropped a few hours ago, currently on build 19045.5856
    2. fully updated Windows Store, Xbox app, Gaming Services. no updates are showing as being avalable.
    3. reset Windows store using wsreset.exe
    4. reset Xbox app, Xbox companion, Xbox Live, Gaming Services
    5. uninstalled and reinstalled all of the above
    6. ran the Gaming Services Repair Tool, both though the Xbox app and the standalone download.

    7. disabled antivirus
    8. used wifi instead of ethernet
    9. connected to a different network all together
    10. completely reinstalled windows, fully updated windows and xbox related apps, updated computer drivers

    I went though the "Fixing gaming issues with the Xbox app for windows" help page completely:

    -xbox status is normal

    -I am logged into windows using my Microsoft account, xbox app and Windows Store are logged in using the same Microsoft account

    -I have run the Gaming services repair tool, both though the xbox app and using the standalone version

    -my game pass subscription is still active

    -windows defender is the only antivirus installed, and it has been as disabled as i can make it

    -there are no other game launchers installed

    -windows is fully up to date

    -drivers are fully up to date

    -I have no game extensions enabled

    at this point, Im typing this out on a completely clean install of windows with the only apps that are installed are ones downloaded through Windows Update or though the windows store. the only 3rd party programs currently running are Firefox and the gigabyte app center for driver updates. yet still, downloads always stop at the same spot.

    I can download any install games on my laptop and on my xbox, but nothing works on my desktop.

    at this point I'm completely out of ideas, nothing i've seen on here, official help pages, or reddit have worked.

    I can't install any applications or games from Microsoft Store that specifically state they need administrator approval for installation.

    Xbox app is not seeing my games

    the xbox app and windows store puts most games into a encrypted folder which is locked to the one windows installation, you have to redownload all windows gamepass/store games again, microsoft went this route instead of the other launchers.

    You can try downloading these games from the Microsoft Store app. Simply search the game title – make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft Store app with your Microsoft account that owns Game Pass – and download it there.

    Are you using the Xbox game pass application for windows 10? If not try installing it, and install the game through the Xbox app instead of microsoft store

    if you have gamepass pc or gamepass ultimate then you should be able to download those games. is the windows install fully up to date and is there any updates waiting in the microsoft store app.
