    Why must I always download the entire game when there's an update


    Why must I always struggle with updating fortnite on this nonsense console, it makes me wish I had a Playstation instead... And I'm not the only one, seemingly the issue mostly affects series s users, every time there is a fortnite update you have to hope it won't make you download the entire game again... Fortnite issued recently a hotfix of 2.2GB but when I click update, the size is 68GB, the size of the entire game... This issue has been persistent since 2021 when I got my console and it's still here today, I don't know what's so difficult with dealing with this, as someone who has low download speed this is extremely frustrating from the Xbox and Microsoft people. All this technology, Ai, expertise and so forth and still there has not been a solution to this, why? And it doesn't help that if you cancel an update on this nonsense console you have to uninstall the whole thing, why can't I just cancel the update and try again and hope it's the correct size.. And please don't tell me it's a network thing because even if fast internet it still does this.... Fix this man for goodness sake

    Petermaponya, I understand your frustration as a player because I have experienced it in the past when using this game. However, I am afraid I must point out that this is an issue on Epic's side and the servers hosting this game. It is not just a Series X/S console issue; it occurs on Xbox One and even if you are using the game from a PC. It is a matter of some files getting corrupted, which prevents the update from loading, and by default, it reinstalls the entire game.

    Please note that this is just a public forum, I will respond in a short period of time as soon as possible, apologizing in advance for any delay in the response. I am simply a user trying to provide information and knowledge that may be useful to others, I am not an employee of Microsoft.

    Is there anyone who might be able to help with this issue? Using 400GB a month of data is not good just because someone can't get their *ahem* together.
